Caffeine's not bad for running?

I wonder how the caffeine was ingested-- the abstract doesn't say. If it was in a pill, that doesn't really correlate with real-world usage. The benefits of water would almost certainly outweigh the benefits of caffeine when ingested with everything else found in coffee or soda.

I was curious as to the form as well. The June 7 blurb on Runner's World.com hints at coffee and soda caffeine, but the research doesn't seem to say anything about it. http://rodale.typepad.com/peakperformance/?cm_re=HP-_-News%20And%20Blogs-_-Peak%20Performance:%20The%20Latest%20Training,%20Nutrition,%20And%20Fitness%20Research

They do make them, but I wouldn't recommend it. I'm still going to say that caffeine's bad, especially when you read the comments that go with the runners world link.

yeah, i hear ya. i found that even drinking gatorade while running isn't good. i don't like it at all. water is the best way to go in my opinion :)aj
